Courses & Education- Basic Assessment Course Spring 2025 (bookings are not open yet)

This British Beekeeping Association course builds upon the Introduction to Beekeeping course and will assist relatively inexperienced beekeepers to develop their existing knowledge and skills in apiculture.
Please note that you will need to be a member of the BBKA and to have kept bees for at least a year and had some basic practical experience in order to be eligible for this course.
It is delivered over 4 consecutive weeks, in 2 hour evening sessions, once a week, followed by a practical assessment preparation session.

The BBKA Basic Assessment Syllabus underpins the course and structures the weekly sessions, it lists the basic things which all beekeepers should know. Do take a look:
Course completion is followed by a practical/oral assessment, usually taken early Summer, which you will be well prepared for. **Bath BKA will fund the assessment for those who sit and pass it.**
- To take the Basic Assessment you should have managed at least one colony of bees for a minimum of 12 months
